Geology: Probably uplift, similar to North Seymour Island and Baltra Island.
Vegetation: Very little. Sesuvium portulacastrum grows on the sand. Most of the islet is covered with sand and barren lava rock.
Outstanding characteristics: Sea Lions everywhere!

Mosquera Islet is located between North Seymour and Baltra Islands, this flat, sandy island attracts a great quantity of sea lions. It is also an excellet site for observing shorebirds such as herons and Lava Gulls. There is no trail on Mosquera Island, so any Galapagos visitor can enjoy an open area.
