Larger Land Birds
Eight species of larger land birds have been recorded in Galapagos, 5 of which are resident, including one endemic species. The larger land birds can be conveniently divided into 3 groups.

Aerial Feeders
Six species which feed exclusively on the wing (swifts, swallows and martins) have been recorded in Galapagos. Only one resident, the endemic Galapagos Martin. The aerial feeders can be divided into 2 groups.

Smaller Land Birds
In total, 29 species of smaller land birds have been recorded in the Galapagos Islands, 20 of which are resident. Eighteen of these resident species are endemic to Galapagos and the other two are represented by endemic subspecies. The smaller land birds can be divided into 10 groups.
