Rafael - Galapagos Level 3 Naturalist

Rafael, known as "Rafa" by his friends, was born in San Cristobal Island, Galapagos. From a very young age he showed a deep interest for biology and for the Islands he calls home. This led him to take his first course to become and Galapagos naturalist guide in 1987 and has been guiding in the Islands ever since. Rafa has also been a naturalist guide in Costa Rica & Panama and he's an expert birdwatcher - having taken several specialization courses in Washington, USA. In 2000 Rafa won an award for excellency in guiding given by Prince Henry of Luxembourg.


Juan Carlos - Galapagos Level 3 Naturalist

JUAN CARLOS NARANJO

National Park Certification: Level 3

Juan Carlos was born in Quito, Ecuador and became a Galapagos National Park guide in 1985. He is also a certified PADI Dive Master and a certified Dive guide in the Galapagos. During his time as a dive master, Juan Carlos led countless trips to world famous Darwin Island & Wolf Island. He specialezed in Biology at his university and onn the Fauna of Ecuador and the Galapagos. Juan Carlos is an avid conservationist and speaks fluent English and Spanish and is knowledgeable in Italian as well.


Jorge - Galapagos Level 3 Naturalist

JORGE GARCIA

Jorge was born in San Cristobal, Galapagos. He is known as "Lonesome George" in the Islands, a name that originated from his involvement with the project of the last remaining Pinta Island Tortoise specimen in Galapagos. Jorge studied Environmental Sciences at his university and later earned another degree in Tourism. He is an avid photographer and videographer and has been a Galapagos National Park certified guide since 1988. He is also a certified PADI Dive Master and Galapagos dive guide.


Bolivar - Galapagos Level 3 Naturalist

BOLIVAR SANCHEZ

National Park Certification: Level 3

Bolivar, known as "Boli" by his friends, was born in the port city of Guayaquil, Ecuador. He became a Galapagos National Park guide in 1993 and has been leading groups from all over the world ever since. Bolivar received a degree in Biology at his Universtiy and also has degrees in Conservation and Geology. His passion in Galapagos is snorkeling and he is also an avid photographer.


Alex - Galapagos Level 3 Naturalist

ALEX COX

National Park Certification: Level 3

Alex is a native of the Galapagos. He was born in San Cristobal Island and comes from a family of true Galapagos naturalists. Alex has a brother who is also a guide in the Galapagos and together they took their first course in 1995 to become certified guides by the Galapagos National park. Since then he has completed all courses to become one of the most knowledgeable guides in Galapagos. Alex has a degree in Biology and Architecture and when he is not guiding he spends his time on San Cristobal Island where he was born.
